History
Chris and I have a regular tradition of watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. Unfortunately, we live on opposite sides of the United States, so instead of sitting on a couch together we get to sit in a voice chat and try to press play at the same time.
This is, of course, stupid. So in 2009 we set out to create a system that would sync our video players for us and let us focus on the really important thing: watching Aang beat the shit out of random firebenders.
In 2014, our "Group Video Player" got renamed and launched as an actual product. Ever since, we've been using it to log countless hours of synchronized video viewing, and it seems unlikely we'll ever stop. Honestly, being in person with people is over rated anyway.
